Alentejo tourism embraces interactivity

Alentejo’s visitor centers will use 50 interactive tables, developed by EDIGMA, to create a pioneer tourism experience, unique in the whole world.

The "Alentejo’s Tourism Information Network", a project promoted by the Regional Tourism Authority, will equip 50 tourism offices of 47 municipalities in Alentejo with interactive tables.

In order to create a memorable tourism experience that raised the hospitality of the entire region to an international case study level, EDIGMA partnered with InfoPortugal.
While Edigma will develop the tables’ structure, interactive technology and a common collaborative platform for the tourism offices, InfoPortugal will work on the geo-location digital contents.

With aesthetic details related to Alentejo’s region, such as the use of cork, fluid shapes or the predominance of neutral colors that refer to its plains, these tables have specially tailored ergonomics and functionality, to adapt to any user or location.

Regarding the application, it will stand out for how intuitively tourists will be able to explore an interactive map with various points of interest, accessing information like "where to eat", "where to sleep", "what to do", “what to visit", weather, events and routes.

Through the description, pictures and location of each landmark, visitors will be able to properly plan their stay and travel, both independently or supported by the employees working at the visitor centers. Thus, the tourism technicians will also benefit, thereby enhancing the quality of the tourism information provided, and their own sense of belonging to the region.

With all these useful features and benefits, combined with a very specific and inspired design, these interactive solutions will surely become real promoters of Alentejo’s region and brand.
