Azores Airports’ interactive directories

EDIGMA installed five interactive directories in the Azores Cohesion islands’ airports.

In an initiative promoted by the Regional Secretary for Science, Technology and Infrastructure of Azores, EDIGMA installed an interactive directory in each of the five Azores Cohesion islands’ airports (Corvo, Flores, Graciosa, S. Jorge and Santa Maria).

Allowing an engaging and innovative promotion of the region’s Roadmap for Science, all the digital panels include interactive maps with each islands’ points of interest (Science Centers, for instance), contents (text, images and videos) regarding their location, history, geography, geology, climate, fauna and flora, and also broader items, like news or events related to Azores’ natural and scientific dimensions. And as the public feedback is always an utmost valuable asset, it’s also possible to send suggestions.

In the words of the Regional Secretary for Science, Technology and Infrastructure of Azores himself, “the panels will allow a closer approach of citizens, locals and tourists, to interactive and detailed information, and will be a real source of information for all who wish to learn more about our islands, in a different perspective”,

This project clearly evidences the relevance of technology dissemination for the promotion of the Azores’ economy of knowledge, which is absolutely crucial to its own future.
